Samsung Electronics’ first foldable Smartphone, the ‘Galaxy Fold’ has finally set its release date again after a long time of preparation. Samsung has delayed its official release date until September. It is alongside with the other flagship, Galaxy Note 10 that will be released in New York on the 5th of September.
On July 25th, Samsung Electronics announced that it will release Galaxy Fold globally by September. After the latest product test, it is actually possible to release the phone immediately.
However, the company predicted that it could negatively impact the sale of Galaxy Note 10. The phone serves a huge cash cow at the second half of the year. Therefore, it would launch the foldable phone after the Galaxy Note 10.
“We conducted a thorough analysis to provide the best user experience,” Samsung Electronics said on the same day. Adding that it has reinforced the design of Galaxy Fold.

Three months that might feels like forever for Galaxy Fold
Samsung Electronics was originally scheduled to release the foldable smartphone in the U.S. for the first time on April 26. But a controversy arose among local reviewers over a screen glitch caused the company to pull out the products days before its official launch.
Since then, Samsung Electronics has been working on supplementation to increase perfection of the smartphone for about three months. Galaxy Fold is Samsung Electronics’ first generation foldable phones. It is also a strategic product that can strengthen its innovative image.
It also improved dust and foreign substances on top and bottom that serves to open and close like hinges of the phones. Samsung also added a new protection cap to enhance durability. It also minimized gaps between hinge structures and main body and front screen. In particular, there is also a new metal layer at the interior back of the Infinity Flex display to better protect the display.
Samsung’s foldable phone would compete with V50 ThinQ, LG Electronic’s version of foldable phone. But Samsung has to do something to the price it has previously set for Galaxy Fold. Because LG is selling its flagship phone half the price of Samsung’s, and the popularity of the phone is now getting bigger.
