North Korea ‘orders’ the US to accept its demands unconditionally. Accordingly, the demands are pertinent to denuclearization attempts both countries have been working on for months.
Kim Kye-gwan, a senior aide to Kim Jong Un, made the statement on Saturday. This is, in addition, regarding to the ‘gifts’ North Korea has been ranting about in the last months.
“We have wasted our time with U.S. for more than a year and a half,” he said. “For dialogue to happen, the U.S. must unconditionally accept our demands. However, we know that the U.S. is not ready to do so, or cannot do so.”
Reportedly, the denuclearization talks between the two countries have provided arguably insignificant progressions. Experts even ask the White House to acknowledge its failure in the attempts.
Furthermore, Pyongyang argues that the talks are more likely a trickery. Even in the beginning, North Korea regularly complained about US and UN sanctions, as well as Washington’s roles in joint exercises and weapons sales with the South.

North Korea: Demands for US and Trump
So far, North Korea has not disclosed the demands for the US and its President Donald Trump. However, a little confirmation suggests that it is pertaining to the continuation of the denuclearization talks.
However, the demands are dissimilar from the deals between the country and Vietnam. Senior diplomat Kim Kye-gwan confirmed this in a statement.
“There will be no negotiations like in Vietnam, in which we proposed exchanging a core nuclear facility of the country for the lifting of some UN sanctions,” he stated.
Regarding the worsening relationships between the countries, President Trump sent a birthday greeting to North Korea’s Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un. However, the country said it is far from enough.
“Although Chairman Kim Jong-un has good personal feelings about President Trump, they are, in the true sense of the word, personal,” Kim Kye-gwan explained. “But it is a personal thing and our chairman, who represents the state and works for the benefit of the state, will not make decisions based on his personal relationship.”
