New York Stock Exchange’s Dow Jones closed at 35,000 for the first time on strong corporate earnings.
The Dow Jones 30 industrial average closed at 35,061.55, up 238.20 points from the previous day.
The Standard & Poor’s 500 rose 152.39 points and 1.04% to 4,411.79, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq rose 152.39 points to 14,836.99.
All three major indexes closed at record highs for four consecutive trading days, with the Dow surpassing 35,000 at the close for the first time.
Technology companies such as social media Twitter and Snap have announced positive performance, raising expectations for large tech companies scheduled for next week.
Shares of Twitter and Snap rose more than 3% and 23%, respectively, Facebook rose more than 5% and Google’s parent company Alphabet rose more than 3%.
Next week, Tesla, Apple, Google, Microsoft (MS), General Electric (GE), Starbucks, AMD, Facebook, Amazon, and others are announcing their performance.
