Samsung, The Only Asian in Top 10 of Global Brand Health

Samsung Electronics reportedly been on the top 5 list of ‘Global Brand Health Ranking’. It is the second year consecutively of the company to be in the top 5 of the list.

According to industries on the 26th, Samsung Electronics ranked fourth in ‘Global Brand Health Rankings”. Global Internet polling company, YouGov, recently released the news.

‘Brand Health Index’ is the indicator of how well a company keeps its promise to consumers and how solid its market position is.

The rankings were based on a survey of six items — image, quality, value, satisfaction, recommendation and reputation. It went on from July last year to June this year in more than 30 countries around the world.

Samsung, the only Asian company in the top 10 of Global Brand Health Rankings 2019

Samsung Electronics fell one notch from third place last year, but it was the only Asian company to in the top 10 list. And it succeeded in beating global leading companies such as Facebook, Amazon, Adidas and Toyota.

In particular, it ranked first in France, the Philippines, Russia and the Netherlands. While also ranked top in major countries such as the U.S. (9th), Britain (10th), Germany (5th), Mexico (6th), the United Arab Emirates (3rd), Vietnam (2nd), and Indonesia (7th).

In particular, Samsung Electronics also attracted attention in the mobile segment. Its mobile device brand Galaxy ranked 23rd overall in addition to its corporate brand.

Google Inc. of the U.S. topped the list this year, just like last year. Followed by Facebook’s mobile messenger WhatsApp and YouTube. In addition, Facebook, Amazon, IKEA, Nike, PayPal and Netflix were also on top the 10 list after Samsung Electronics.

Other than Samsung Electronics, Japan’s Uniqlo ranked 12th. While Saudi Arabia’s food company Almarai and Japan’s Panasonic ranked 15th and 16th. LG was ranked 18th.

However, Samsung Electronics ranked second after LG in the survey conducted in Korea. Kakao Bank, Google and Tylenol were among the top five.

“The top 10 brands are IT companies except Nike and Ikea,” Yugov said. “Digital brands are natural because they can be accessed anywhere on the Internet because of their characteristics.”
