Before COVID-19 came along, people used to be in a hurry before go working. Since then, millions of people have to work from home. Some of them may still need to adapt to the new era like this.
Here are 4 ways to be more productive when working from home.
1. Clean Your Workspace
Being in an office compels you to work under constraints. You have a desk, a computer, and a handful of knick-knacks. That is not the case at home. This is Paradise of Distraction.
Focus is the key to maximum efficiency, meaning you need to limit distractions. Limit what you have on your desk to just the bare essentials. Always keep in mind the saying “Clean desk, clean mind.”
2. Use a Timer
Don’t get stuck getting more and more done. There’s always something to be learned in this wild, volatile global world.
Fall into the pit and maybe you can not get out. Set limited time intervals for working on a mission, and once the timer reaches zero, times up. It’s amazing how easily we switch when we’re under the fire.
3. Take Mini-Breaks
One of the best and worst things about working from home is not being watched by people every waking moment. Their bosses and colleagues are gone. All in your hands.
That means you can take a break if you want to pause. So what are we to guess? When you are serious about improving your productivity, it is just something you can do.
After focus sessions, the best advice would be to simply go for a walk. Get some fresh air and a change of scenery.
4. Enjoy Yourself
That sounds a little silly to say, but it should not be ignored. Better luck increases efficiency. For most people to be trapped at home for long periods of time is a major pull in the opposite direction. Did you ever see someone working on a long holiday day?
They are powering through the day. Some will get more done in a day than they have all week. It’s what I like to call the day-before-vacation phenomenon. That’s why it’s imperative to schedule in some fun each week.
