Advertising your business through public speaking could sound like an unexpected strategy. However, public speaking is one of the greatest way to let the public know your business! Forbes asked the members of Young Entrepreneur Council on how the strategy could help you grow your business and how to start doing it. Read more about it below!
Jump in and socialize with people
Associate the platforms that you regularly use and your target market’s. Review everything related to the platform and what kind of content your target market prefer. Try to socialize with more people to attract more interest in you and your business.
Aim for local events, seek chamber of commerce
Participating in your chamber of commerce for local events is another way to keep the engagements and opportunities. This goes hand in hand with building your online presence and engaging with people inside. Remember, public speaking opportunities often come from networking. Try to be more social!
Challenge yourself, go outside your niche
While this might sound risky, filling on events that are not specifically directed to your industry could be a good speaking engagement. You can address issues that your business face, and how it could be a start for other people to suggest solution by starting their own business. This approach could bring more people’s interest on what business you are building.
Original research often brings more attention
Consider presenting about your original research. While you want to become an authority in the field, you would want to attract the upper floors, businessmen who are above you. Who knows, your research could attract some of those people’s interest. Your original research could be more than well appreciated.
Make a wholesome content for your speech
Last but not least, always prepare a worthwhile content to share for your D-day. Don’t disappoint the recruiters and the whole audience who has been anticipating for your talk. Providing empty speech is a waste of time, both for you and your audience. It might even taint your brand. Being known for a good speaker can also open you more opportunities in the future.
