Starting February 8, 2021, WhatsApp’s new privacy policy will take effect. For this reason, many have flocked to the Signal Messenger application. Within five days, 7.5 million people installed Signal to their smartphone. However, not many know if WhatsApp group chats can be moved to Signal.
This transfer also has several steps. This is done because Signal is a different platform from WhatsApp and is also not owned by Facebook.
Signal also explains how to move group chats from other applications to Signal as very simple. The company says that it is only done by sending a link.
Here’s how to move a group chat from WhatsApp to Signal:
- Download the Signal app
- Create a new group
- Tap group settings then tap ‘Group Link’
- Activate ‘Group Link’, then tap ‘Share’
- Then, select which messaging app group to receive the link and send.
