Earning money from home might take as little as an hour each day or as much as a full-time career, depending on how much effort you want to put in.
Here are some ideas on how to earn money as your income from home that fits your needs, skills, and schedule.
1. Monetize Your Website
If you already have a blog or website, let it earn you some money. Programs such as Google AdSense enable advertisers to bid for space in your ad.
It’s safe and needn’t add to the workload. Ads run on your blog and when visitors click on them you make money. You can also place a PayPal button on your site so readers can either donate to you or pay for any items you sell.
2. Freelance
If you have an on-demand talent, such as writing, web design, accounting, or even data entry, you can be paid to freelance your services.
You can set a price for your labor and choose your clients. To get started, “go back to former employers and ask if they have any freelance work,” says Katherine Hutt, national spokesperson for the Better Business Bureau and former freelancer.
If you don’t have any experience yet, Hutt suggests doing some volunteer work for a charity to build your portfolio.
3. Start Your Own Small Business
You get compliments on the jewelry you make all the time, and your family loved the scarves you created last Christmas. In turning the hobby into a small business, let strangers love what you do, too. Create your wares website, or use a marketplace like Etsy to sell your creations.
