3. Notify Your References

The third way to recover from bad job interviews is by notifying your references. Your references hold an important role. They are your last chance to highlight your skills or experiences. If you did not do well during the interview, your references can turn the table.

Thus, you need to notify your references for your job interview. Besides, you need to also remind them to stay alert, if (hopefully) they might get a call. Ask them to reiterate a point that maybe you feel like you didn’t make well. Thus, they know what to say if they really get the call.

Besides, you can also ask them to highlight something more that you and the interviewer discussed.

4. Send a Thank You Note

Giving a thank you note remains important, even if you bombed the interview. It will show graciousness. Besides, thank you note will also provide a chance for you to highlight your skills and experiences. On top of all, you can answer the questions that you missed before. Tell your interviewer the answer there.

You can give the thank you note through an email or a written letter. But, don’t apologize or admit to messing up during the interview.

Follow up and elaborate on the note on any questions that you don’t feel like you answered adequately. Moreover, you can also explain details about your skills and experience that might not have been clear. Just be careful not to highlight something the interviewer might have overlooked.

5. Learn from Your Mistakes

Not every interview can go perfectly, thus it’s important to learn from your mistakes. Sit down and review which parts went well and what areas need improvement. Thus, every time you have a bad interview, you have to list your mistakes. For many people, taking a slower approach when answering will mitigate future problems.

It’s not a race, so take it slow and learn. Thus, you need to try these ways to recover from your bad interviews.
