SpaceX to release its DOGE-1 mission to the moon in the first quarter of next year.
Elon Musk’s commercial rocket company will accept payments in the cryptocurrency dogecoin, which is inspired by the meme.
Reported by Channel News Asia (CNA) on Monday (10/5/2021), Geometric Energy Corporation announced the Dogecoin funding mission on Sunday (9/5/2021), but did not say how much the mission’s financial value.
“We’re looking forward to releasing DOGE-1 to the Moon!” said VP of Commercial Sales for SpaceX Tom Ochinero in a statement from Geometric Energy.
Tom said this plan would demonstrate the application of cryptocurrency in space missions and lay the foundation for the interplanetary business.
Meanwhile, Elon Musk stated in his Twitter account in April 2021 that SpaceX will send Dogecoin to the moon in a true sense.
Dogecoin Price Falls
Meanwhile, on Sunday (10/5/2021) Bloomberg launched the price of Dogecoin again falling after it had soared as investors waited for Elon Musk’s appearance on Saturday Night Live (SNL).
Over the past week, Dogecoin’s strengthening was said to have been triggered by a tweet from Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk on his Twitter account. Moreover, Elon Musk will host SNL.
In one tweet, Elon Musk called himself a “dogfather” ahead of the Saturday Night Live show on Saturday (8/5/2021) local time. However, after Elon Musk appeared on SNL, the Dogecoin exchange rate had to be corrected from its record high last Saturday.
Based on CoinGecko’s data on Sunday (9/5/2021) at 13.00 WIB, the Dogecoin price was US $ 0.568248, or fell 21.2 percent from the previous day.
As we know, Elon Musk has become one of the Dogecoin pom-pomers, along with Mark Cuban, Snoop Dogg, and Gene Simmons. Not surprisingly, all Dogecoin traders in the world seemed to organize their clients to watch the SNL episode last Saturday.
