As we know, when a conditionis unpleasant or negative, it actually becomes a positive factor for the price of gold. When economic conditions are not clear, that’s when safe haven assets triumph. Gold’s status as a safe haven is sought when conditions are not pleasant.
2 Gold Trading Strategy
Strategy #1: 3X GOLD
This strategy follows the market trend. In addition, this strategy is suitable for short-term. The key are:
- Time of the Session: Europe and US
- Time Frame: M15, M30,H1
Set-Up Trade Long/ Buy
- Setup using 3 EMA 9 (red), 20 (black), 50 (blue)
- Identify an uptrend when the EMA is 9 (red), is above EMA 20 (black) and EMA 20 (black) is above EMA 50 (blue)
- Wait for the candle to touch EMA 9 (red) and wait for a Bullish candle pattern to appear. (Harami, Engulfing, Doji, Hammer)
- Entry on the next candle
- Stoploss is placed below the reversal candle pattern
- Take profit ratio 2:1 or 3:1
- Move stoploss to entry price when price has reached 1:1 ratio
Set Up Trade Shor/Sell
- Setup using 3 EMA 9 (red), 20 (black), 50 (blue)
- Identify a downtrend when EMA 9 (red) is below EMA 20 (black) and EMA 20 (black) is below EMA 50 (blue)
- Wait for a candle to touch the EMA 9 (red) and wait for the Bearish candle pattern to appear. (Harami, Engulfing, Doji, Hammer)
- Entry on the next candle
- Stoploss is placed below the reversal candle pattern
- Take profit ratio 2:1 or 3:1
- Move stoploss to entry price when price has reached 1:1 ratio
Strategy #2 The Gold Surfer
Trade follow market trends.
- Time: Europa Session, US Session
- Time Frame: M15,M30,H1
Set-up Trade Long/Buy
- Setup using EMA 9(red), EMA 20 (black), MACD (5,26,9)
- Entry Buy when EMA 9( red) crossed above the 20 EMA (black), and MACD changed from negative to positive. The
- stop loss was set below the LOW price of the previous 2 candles.
- Close the position when the 2 EMA 9 (red) and 20 (black) cross each other again.
Set-up Trade Short
- Setup using EMA 9 (red), EMA 20 (black), MACD (5,26,9)
- Sell entry when EMA 9 (red) crosses below EMA 20 (black), and MACD changes from positive to negative
- Stop Loss is set above the HIGH price of the previous 2 candles
- Close the position when both 9 (red) and 20 (black) EMAs cross again
When closing today’s webinar session, Franky also said that these two strategies are the result of a combination of 4 market strategists. The total profit can reach 140% with a record risk of 3% per trade.
