Tesla Inc TSLA CEO Elon Musk has revealed why he changed Twitter’s logo and name to X. According to Bloomberg News, Musk said in a statement on the 25th (local time), “Twitter was acquired by X Corp to guarantee freedom of speech and become a ‘superapp’. It is not just a change of mission, but a work to do (the above-described) work,” he said.
The blue bird, which symbolized Twitter, disappeared the previous day, and the alphabet “X” took its place. It came a day after Musk said he would change his Twitter logo.
Musk recently established SpaceX, a space exploration company, as well as Twitter, as part of his work to integrate the group’s image under the brand “X,” and named the recently established generative artificial intelligence (AI) company “X.ai .”
Twitter said, “In the coming months, we will also be finishing work on comprehensive communications and full financial transactions. In this context, the name Twitter is meaningless, so we should say goodbye to the bluebird,” he explained.
Twitter is trying to switch to a super app that can do everything, so-called “everything app.”
“X is a future state of unlimited interaction centered on audio and video, messaging, payment and finance,” Twitter CEO Linda Yakarino said recently. “We will create a global market for ideas, products, services, and opportunities.”
He added, “The AI-powered X will connect us in the way we began to imagine.”
