Foodpanda Malaysia continues operation as usual amid the coronavirus lockdown in the country. Despite the restricted movement orders, the food delivery service will still be available at customers’ disposal.
Accordingly, to ensure the safety of its staffs and riders, Foodpanda has adopted precautionary measures. Of those, the company will provide hand sanitizers and face masks for free for the employees.
“Our rider hubs provide hand sanitisers and masks free of charge to all riders who are also instructed to wash their hands every two hours and each time after handling a delivery,” said Foodpanda Malaysia.
“We are in constant communication with our restaurant partners following the latest World Health Organization notices, while advising them on the health and safety practices beyond our food hygiene expectations.”
Furthermore, to support social distancing movement, the company also urges customers to use cashless payments. This is what Foodpanda can currently do put coronavirus transmission to a minimum.
“That way, we can easily keep unnecessary human interactions to a minimum,” Foodpanda spokesperson stated.

Foodpanda Malaysia, Struggling against Coronavirus
Foodpanda is currently having a difficult time suffering from coronavirus outbreak. Reportedly, some of its staff workers are COVID-19 positive.
The news came not long after the declaration for lockdown and restricted movement orders made public. Even worse, as their business is a delivery service, this will greatly impact customers’ trusts.
However, Foodpanda decided not to halt its business as the company wants to maintain customer services to maximum. In so doing, the company has been closely monitoring the health of its workers.
Among the measures, the company is conducting further health check-ups for staffs, with all expenses covered. This is part of the company’s sanitization protocols.
“Our commitment remains with supporting all our riders, restaurant partners and valued customers as we go through this tough time together as a nation,” Foodpanda expressed.
